About Fox in the Henhouse
After moving from coast to coast, and spending two years writing and recording, Wakefield singer, Ryan Escolopio has finally settled down in Baltimore, MD. Shying away from his pop punk roots, Ryan broke into the indie rock scene with his new project Fox in the Henhouse and their debut album The Fox EP, on iBOT Records. The bands latest album, Vulves Vulves, unites his poignant lyrical stylings with rollicking guitars to spark a number of crowd pleasers. The album, with standout tracks like "Fears," which appeals to indie rock fans and non-indie rock fans alike, is set to release October 12, 2010. Fox in the Henhouse has been recording at Ryan's new recording studio in downtown Baltimore, and although he has left his pop punk ways behind, he has brought his Wakefield guitarist, JD Tennyson, in to co-write and co-produce on this debut full-length record. Along with his brother and former Good Charlotte drummer, Aaron Escolopio, and New Years Day guitarist/Wakefield bassist, Mike Schoolden to help out on the recording of the album. In 2003, Ryan and his band Wakefield released their first record American Made, on Arista Records. While spending much time touring with bands like All-American Rejects, Home Grown, Riddilin' Kids and Reel Big Fish, American Made single Say You Will made it to top 40 radio stations, MTV, Fuse and Nickelodeon. After signing to Jive Records where they released their second album, Which Side Are You On?. Where they made an appearance on the Olsen Twins hit movie, New York Minute. Playing Mary-Kate's band. Shortly after, the band got experimental with the release of their record. Which was the start of Ryan's taste and influence in indie rock music. 2010 marks a new time for Ryan Escolopio and his vision of music and business alike. With the help of friends and family, Ryan has built a studio, label and band from the ground up. iBOT Records is an all digital label, who has the understandings of the music industry in 2010. With artists such as Rookie Of The Year, Wakefield, Fox in the Henhouse & Joy Island on their roster, 2011 will give iBOT Records a concrete name on the map of independent music. With the availability to release the new record through his own record label, he has the ability to take his creativity to the next level. The band's influences include Nada Surf, Weezer, Beach Boys, Radiohead, HarMar Superstar, Spoon, and The Flaming Lips.
