About Jessie Malakouti
Jessie Malakouti (born March 30, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter, actress and dancer. She is currently performing under the moniker Eden xo. She began her career by joining the DIDC Hip Hop Dance Crew at age 12. She toured nationally with them, winning several awards including the 2003 Urban Jam National Scholarship. This opened the door for Malakouti to dance in music videos for major artists like Nick Cannon, and P!nk, and act in commercials for Verizon Wireless, and Powerade. In 2005 Malakouti formed the band 'Shut Up Stella' and signed a record deal with Epic Records, a division of Sony Music. Shut Up Stella recorded several songs, one of which ("Welcome to My Party") appeared in the 2008 film Baby Mama. On March 27, 2008 it was announced on the band's official MySpace that Jessie decided to go solo. On June 23, 2008 it was reported that Malakouti was splitting time between Los Angeles, New York City, Stockholm and London working on her debut solo album, collaborating with various multi-platinum producers which include: Arnthor Birgisson (Maratone), Justin Trugman, Lester Mendez, Matt Rowe, Brian Higgins, and Wayne Rodrigues. Jessie is managed by Simon Renshaw and Steve Feinberg for Strategic Artist Management, and published by Liberal Arts Music Publishing/EMI Music Publishing (founded by David Massey (music executive) Jessie is also the newest member of UK songwriting/producing team Xenomania. Jessie Malakouti's first solo music video for her song "Trash Me" was released online in August 2008. It was directed by Kerry Bellessa and stars Jaymz Tuaileva of "So You Think You Can Dance. Jessie Malakouti has performed under the moniker Jessie And The Toy Boys. In 2011 Jessie toured North America as a opening act for Britney Spears on the Femme Fatale Tour, and as a main stage act alongside Kaskade, Rusko, Steve Aoki, and Avicii on the Identity Festival.
