About Julie Walters

Julie Walters was born as Julia Mary Walters in Birmingham. She attended Holly Lodge Grammar School for Girls on Holly Lane in Smethwick, though was asked to leave at the end of her sixth year due to her 'high jinks'. Starred in 'Educating Rita' alongside Michael Caine, in Billy Elliot, Calendar Girls and Mamma Mia as well as in several 'Harry Potter' films. She has been awarded the OBE and CBE in the Queen's honours.
