About Kian Egan
Kian John Francis Egan, known as Kian Egan, is one of four (previously five) members of Irish boy band Westlife. He was born Cian on 29 April 1980 in Sligo, Ireland. He attended Summerhill College secondary school, in Sligo. He plays many instruments inside and outside the group, including the piano and guitar and was a former member of Sligo punk rock group Skrod and was has then in a pop group called IOU with fellow Westlife members Shane Filan and Mark Feehily as well as Graham Keighron, Michael "Miggles" Garrett and Derek Lacy. Kian Egan's credits in the band include writing songs such as "Don't Let Me Go" and "When You Come Around." His family includes his parents: Patricia and Kevin; his brothers: Tom, Gavin, and Colm; and his sisters: Marielle, Vivienne, and Fenella. Kian has a strong interest in surfing, and during his holidays, he can normally be found catching a wave on Strandhill beach, Sligo - or in London with his girlfriend Jodi Albert formely of English soap opera Hollyoaks. Kian is known in the band for his bass vocals which are featured on selected Westlife tracks.
