About Mo Some Tonebender
MO'SOME TONEBENDER [モーサム・トーンベンダー] are: Momo Kazuhiro [百々和宏] lead vocals and guitar; Takei Yasunori [武井靖典] bass guitar and backing vocals; Fujita Isamu [藤田勇] drums and backing vocals. Loud and intense, MO'SOME TONEBENDER could not have come at a better time. The band started putting out releases right when it seemed Japan 's rock revolution was over and have put out a wide variety of hard-hitting rock albums, as well as many more experimental releases. Formed in Fukuoka in 1997, MO'SOME TONEBENDER's goal from the beginning was to address the change of sound and pushing the limits of sound with just guitar/bass/drums (although later releases would see additional instruments brought in to play). This can be seen in noise-rock tracks like DRUM & NOISE and tenjou no hikui heya. MO'SOME TONEBENDER got their start on a label called QUATTRO/UK DISCS. Their first album was DRIVE, which was released in October of 1999. The band continued on this label until the release of trigger happy in November of 2003. trigger happy would be their most experimental album yet. Half of the album did not even contain any vocals from Kazuhiro and some of the tracks almost seemed like pure jam music with experimentation in computer sounds. They signed onto Columbia after the release of trigger happy. Their first album on the label was The Stories of Adventure. It can be said this is the band's mellowest release to date. Gone are the long drones of noise and yells. It cannot be said that their loud side is gone forever, however, as they still show the same raw energy that has been presented on the majority of their works during their live performances. The 2008 album, Sing, saw the band take a surprising pop turn, but its follow-up, 2010's STRUGGLE, was a violent shift back to a more aggressive sound. What direction the band chooses to take from there remains to be seen. Source: http://www.circlewithadot.net/bands/mosome/bio.html
