About Pacifist
Pacifist is a four-piece death metal/grindcore/jazz/experimental band from New Orleans, Louisiana. Their hometown roots prevail in the spastic, aggressive music that contorts from one seemingly disparate genre to another in a matter of seconds, all while maintaining a developed focus that belies their youthful age. Having been together for little over a year, the band has already gained a reputation for passionate live performances that mix precise musicianship with chaotic physical feats. Pacifist's first EP was recorded with iwrestledabearonce mastermind Steven Bradley of Bucket of Truth Recordings. Simply titled Pacifist, the EP contains the first eight songs written by the band in a whirlwind five months of existence, highlighting their ability to crank out quality music in a short amount of time. The band's efficiency was even more on display when recording: eight songs recorded and mixed within a three-day period. The band takes great pride in their local music scene by working at The High Ground, an all ages venue located in Metairie, Louisiana. All four members hold various positions within the venue, learning the ins and outs of the music business by hosting local and national acts on a nightly basis. This has given Pacifist a unique opportunity to interact with bands of various genres and gain insight into the music business from various aspects, whether it be sound engineering or promotion to security or hospitality for bands. The lyrics of Pacifist seek to exemplify the music's frenetic changes by quickly adapting from one experience to the next, all while keeping a cohesive overall subject. The words revolve around personal experience and the downfall of humankind: the failures that cause one person to injure another, spreading hate like disease through the remnants of what we consider society. Everybody Loves Fun, the latest release from Pacifist, was once again recorded with Bucket of Truth Recordings and iwrestledabearonce mastermind Steven Bradley. The five song EP, recorded in only a three day period, shows the rapid progression of Pacifist; the new sound features more aggression, chaos and groove compared to the previous Pacifist EP. The band has done extreme promotion for the self-released EP, including a self-financed music video for the song Happiness directed by KOTK Productions. With the ongoing and diligent DIY efforts of Pacifist, the world will soon know: Everybody Loves Fun! Pacifist has shared the stage with: Anal Blast, Soul Embraced, Knights of the Abyss, Elysia, See You Next Tuesday, Mouth of the Architect, Intronaut, The Ghost Inside, Abacabb, After the Burial, Veil of Maya, Attila, Wretched, The Demonstration, killwhitneydead, Dr.Acula, iwrestledabearonce, HORSE the band, Arsonists Get All the Girls, and Of Machines.
