About Sound Of Stereo
Sound of Stereo is an EDM (electronic dance music) dj-duo from Belgium, playing music styles such as fidget (in their early years), electro and techno. Members are Jochen Sablon (born january 9th, 1988) and Vincent De Boeck (born march 6th, 1986), both living near Belgium's capital Brussels. Their collaboration started trough an internet forum, where they were both looking for a musical partnership. Living in the same area and sharing the same passion for electronic music, they officially started their common career in the beginning of 2008. Since the start of their carreer they played in about every European country, toured the United States, Australia and Asia and were part of A-list events around the globe such as I Love Techno (Belgium), Electronic Daisies Carnival (LA), Amsterdam Dance Event (The Netherlands), Future Music Festival (Australia), Beatpatrol festival (Austria), Tomorrowland (Belgium) and many more. Musical carreer In the fall of 2008, Sound of Stereo joined the infamous Belgian Lektroluv Label (a division of N.E.W.S. records). The label noticed the dj-duo when their first singles, 'Nic Nag' and 'Supah Dupah', were popping up on dancefloors all over the world. Lektroluv Records is the home of many other artists such as Mumbai Science, The Subs and more. 2009 was a big year for Sound of Stereo: They released two new EP's on Lektroluv records ("Heads Up!" featuring a homemade video that has 400.000 views on Youtube and "Zipper", their biggest succes up to date), they were nominated for a Music Industry Award, they met Steve Aoki on who's Dim Mak label they would later release another EP and they collaborated on the Bloody Beetroots "Romborama" album ("It's better a dj on 2 turntables" is actually a Sound of Stereo track with some additional Bob Rifo production). Their music continued to spread rapidly and was supported by the likes of the Fake Blood, Armand Van Helden, MSTRKRFT, Crookers and many more by the end of the year. Sound of Stereo's music was already reaching the overseas audience, but it wasn't untill 2010 that they went there themselves to perform. They released the "Flatland EP" on Steve Aoki's Dim Mak label in march and travelled to the US to introduce it at SXSW in Austin, WMC in Miami and various clubs and festivals in Mexico, Canada and the United States. The flatland EP was the first indication of the more techno-ish direction that Sound of Stereo would head from that point on. Later that year they would release a new EP called "Helium". In the meantime they remixed Proxy on Turbo Records and even American R&B superstars Ciara and Ludacris. After conquering the United States in 2010, Sound of Stereo travelled to Asia and Australia in march 2011 to be part of the Future Music Festival which was headlined by Chemical Brothers, Pendulum, Richie Hawtin, Steve Angello, Leftfield, Sander Van Doorn and many more. In that same month, Sound of Stereo released it's "Hurricane EP" on Lektroluv records and finished a remix for ZZT's dancefloor anthem Zzafrika which was featured on Turbo records' 100th release. In june 2011 Sound of Stereo released a new original EP called "Mineral". They became resident dj's on Belgian national radio Studio Brussel and started working on a new "Sound of Stereo experience". Live Since the start of their carreer they played in about every European country, toured the United States, Australia and Asia and were on the line up of A-list events around the globe such as I Love Techno (Belgium), Electric Daisies Carnival (LA), Amsterdam Dance Event (The Netherlands), Future Music Festival (Australia), Beatpatrol festival (Austria), 10 Days Off (Belgium), Tomorrowland (Belgium) and many more. After DJ'ing for over 3 years, they decided that it was time for something new, time for a next step. A next step that they found in the form of a liveshow combining their older, current and unreleased material into one energetic 60 minute liveshow. Clothing and artwork Sound of Stereo has a clothing sponsor called Lobster Apparel. They started their collaboration with the Italian clothing brand in the beginning of 2009. Most of Sound of Stereo's artwork is made by Vincent, one of the two members. He has a degree in graphic design and created most of the EP covers, t-shirt designs (including some for Lobster Apparel) and the Sound of Stereo website.
