Renaming American Football
I appreciate and understand why America affectionately refers to American football as simply football - it's one of, if not, the most popular sport in the states and calling it just "football" is a means to shorten it's name for ease of saying it.
Rugby for instance is actually called Rugby football but most/all just call it rugby. If that same rule was to apply to American football, it would be ridiculous to call the sport simply "American".
However unpopular soccer is in the US, I'd love America to hold a vote on officially renaming "football" to something more apt so that soccer can reclaim it's rightful title of "football" or "the beautiful game" as it's known across literally the rest of the world.
All ideas as to what American football could be renamed to are welcomed (the more creative the better). If you are also American and would like to publicly lambaste me for offending you, please fire away as well.
