About Tim Koch
(1) Australian artist Tim Koch. (2) Swedish artist Tim Koch. (3) American artist Tim Koch. (1)Tim Koch lives in adelaide, Australia. He also records as 10:32. He studied for four years at the University of Adelaide's EMU music technology unit, and has since composed music for theatre, film, television ads, and computer games. A multi instrumentalist, he started his music career playing saxophone and is a dab hand on the drums and bass guitar and has on various occasions provided rhythm back up for Australian band Brunatex. Over the space of five full-length albums, Tim Koch has covered a lot of ground sonically, choosing to experiment with mood and texture, but perhaps never committing wholly to one focused style. Initially coming to the attention of the electronic scene under the moniker Thug, utilising detroit styled percussion immersed within a mesh of rich synth pads, he reverted back to his birth name for his subsequent output, toying with more playful sounds, and eventually settling into more contemplative and considered sounds with the Islandtones release on Belgium's U-Cover imprint. His latest album Faena distills and refines the elements that have featured in all of his previous releases, drawing on a broader range of sounds including acoustic guitars, female vocal elements, and raw found-sounds. The bulk of the album was written whilst on tour in Europe in late 2004, with a cramped Antwerp loft acting as a makeshift studio. (2)Tim Koch from Sweden lives in Norrkoping and was formerly in the band Apple of Newton, but is now a solo-act. His music could be described as Indiepop/Singer-Songwriter, influenced by artists like The Decemberists, The Shins, Elliott Smith, The Beatles and Genesis. He recently released his first self produced EP, called "A Memory Doesn't Reveal Itself Until You've Forgotten About It For A While". It was recorded at his home. Instruments used on the album include acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, melodica and various rhythm instruments. He's still an unsigned artist, and is currently playing in various cities and smaller towns around Norrkoping. Among the gigs he has had up until now include one with Jon Auer (formerly of The Posies) and a festival in Linkoping along with Shout Out Louds, Maia Hirasawa and Eskalator among others. (3)Tim Koch is a singer/songwriter in Albany, NY.
