Reaktor, Max for Live and KarmaFX Modular for experimental bits. Spectrasonics for anything (bass, perc) fast envelopes, cant beat it.
Yeah Reason can be quite memory intensive. The reason i've been so loyal (excuse the pun) is that its always had what i needed.
Still learning my way around it, but I'm using a Behringer UMX-490 with Reason. There's something about the layout that I really like - the virtual rack, the way you work with it, as if you were using a live setup. The analogue synth sounds also seem far superior to the alternatives I've briefly experimented with. I love what I was able to do so far with Subtractor and Malström.
The only downside is that sometimes I just need a good, clean acoustic piano sound to practice, and the Steinway samples I use with Reason eat up all my RAM, making for a less than desirable experience...
Production studio, Yamaha NS10's Bose lfe passive sub, 24/4/2 eurodesk, Propellerheads Reason (used it since v1!) now on 7.1. Novation midi keyboard, MOTU Traveller Mk1 (oldie but still works)... few guitars, a bass rig and 2 basses, Linn C4100 amp... taken a few years, but i'm happy weith my setup now :)
Just upgraded my Padshop to Padshop Pro. Quite happy with it. Now i am lusting after FXPansion's BFD3 and Geist.
