I play the tuba. I also used to play the trombone, but when I had braces in my teeth, it was harder to play it, so I switched to the tuba, and since I got the braces out, I still continue playing the tuba since my brass lesson professor likes it better.

I think is never late to restart to play. I suggest to find near you a good teacher and with 200 dollars you can buy a very good second hand trumpet.

I was a B-flat trumpeter for my old school wind orchestra - first trumpet section too. But realised my place in the grand scheme of things at uni, where there was a Norwegian Brass Band club and boy, could they strut their stuff, so I shied off and learned to drink beer instead...
